Hi everyone,

 

Well we are starting to move into the warmer part of the year and so the number of WICEN events is starting to ramp up.

 

The first of these is the Brindabella Motor Sport Club (BMSC) "Brindabella Stages" that is being conducted on Saturday 15th October.

 

At this stage we don't have all the details, but here are the basics....

 

8 stages (4 stages run twice), apparently something like East West, Hyles Block, Pierces East & Tidbinbilla (order may be different), then service and repeat.

HQ - "The Realm" one of the lower rooms (I need to make sure we can access outside !)

Service Park - Open Area at "Little National Hotel"

Probably need 12 or 13 in the field and 3 or 4 at HQ.

I would be looking at using VHF & UHF portable repeaters on Mt McDonald for the WICEN comm's and probably only a single 'commercial' channel for this event.

 

We don't have an indication of the timings of the day as yet, but would expect some early starts for the early stages (6:00 AM type ?).

So at the moment, I am looking for volunteers for the event, if you can assist would you please let me know your availability and preferences so I can get a roster together.  This email is sent to people on the ACT WICEN MEMBERS group, another email will be sent to the VK1-News group at a later date.

I note that this is the JOTA weekend and hence a few of our regular's will be involved with that.
